The Taskforce will be comprised of a range of multi-agency specialists and will support with vulnerable young people in Alternative Provision who are most at risk of disengaging with education, being criminally exploited by gangs and becoming involved in county lines and knife crime.

At the start of the 2021/22 academic year, we will be setting up the Alternative Provision Taskforce which will all be located in school.

The pilot will run for 2 academic years, with a focus on improving attendance, supporting more young people into education, employment and training after Year 11, reducing their involvement in serious violence, and improving mental health and well-being.

If successful, the intention will be to encourage wider adoption of this approach improving the specialist skills in AP schools by enhancing the relationships between AP schools and the wider landscape of local partnerships.
